School Council

It’s your voice, It’s your choice.

Kingfisher Primary School Council is run by the children for the benefit of all children, ensuring that Kingfisher Primary is the best place to be for everyone!

We are currently children from Year 4 to 6 and we meet twice a month to discuss ideas which can improve our school for all of the children.

  • Last year, the School Council tried to improve the physical school environment by organising Tidy Fridays, where children were able to (with parent’s permission) take part in a litter pick. We removed potentially harmful items from our gardening areas and playground, creating a more environmentally friendly area for children and animals alike.

This year, our general aim is to support the emerging fundraising within school, aiming to raise money, which will create as many extra-curricular opportunities as possible for ALL children within school.

  • Our first idea has been to launch this year’s fundraising project within school, where all year groups will choose a week to raise as much money as possible by organising a fun, themed event. The children in each year group are taking ownership of these events so we’re sure they will be really exciting!
  • The School Councillors in Year 5 and 6 have just written the application to become school judges for the Blue Peter Book Awards – we are now eagerly waiting to find out if we are successful!

We hope we will be able to update you with our next projects and ideas very soon!
